Sailing around the world with such a multihull for a reasonable budget is very difficult for many of us. That's why we propose an alternative, making an Open Source design where everybody can share his skills to develop the project.
The 55-foot catamaran we have designed has no chines, but it will not be difficult to adapt it for building from sandwich panels glass / PVC / epoxy infused then bended on male model, because it is our goal to build by ourselves.
Our approach is in the spirit of Open Source, sharing property, time, towards a common goal, sailing a rational and cost effective catamaran around the world. By creating a community of designers with skills and experience in the field of fast sailboats, we set up a real ambitious and coherent water fablab .
Validation by experts seems essential to us to ensure compliance with regulations / norms and legitimize the coherence of the project (estimate weight reliability, investment protection , reputation and resale value, etc ...).
