RAUHA acoustic lights in a beautiful installation above the restaurant at Heureka Science Center 💡

RAUHA is an acoustic light designed to combine lighting and sound absorption in one elegant element. Its large acoustic surface doubles as a reflector for soft indirect light, while a focused spotlight illuminates the area below.

The acoustic panel can be scaled to suit different spaces, making RAUHA adaptable for a wide range of interiors. The perforated metal tube forms a distinctive detail of the design allowing light to pass through and softly illuminate the acoustic surface, creating a warm and atmospheric glow.

Kaita prototypes

Prototype review is always one of the most important and one of the most exciting stages of a product design process.

From a designer’s perspective, this is the moment when ideas truly become tangible. Together with the manufacturer, we get to evaluate the product’s final proportions, functionality, details, and colors. It’s where drawings and 3D models meet reality and where small refinements make a big difference.

When designing the Kaita recycling bin, we have taken into account the usability, especially from the perspective of the cleaner. Placing the garbage bag in the bin is easy and it fits neatly and does not spill out. Containers of different sizes and colors make it easier to sort waste when multiple containers are needed for recycling different types of waste. The containers have a large capacity for storing waste, which allows for fewer emptying intervals.

Kaita recycling bins are made in Finland by Monena. The colour scheme is inspired by architecture and interior design, so the sorting station blends elegantly into the space. Kaita is based on circular economy thinking and its parts are replaceable and repairable. The material can be recycled and used in new metal products at the end of the product’s life cycle.

New products for Monena! Kaita recycling bins are made for public spaces and can be composed in several different ways. The design is based on soft round shapes, combinability and spatial use. Kaita is suitable for various environments and, as its Finnish name suggests, especially for narrow spaces and tight spaces. The bins can be placed in a row or parallel to each other as needed. Kaita is suitable for public indoor spaces such as offices, shopping malls, schools, daycare centers and event venues.
