What happens when you put three Giants of Light into the middle of a city festival for three days? Well, Bjelovar gave the answer. At the Terezijana-festival, VEKTOR, BIMBI and SPIEGLY didn't wait for the audience to come to them, they went where the party was: Through the streets, beyond people, straight into the middle of everything. What happened next was: People stopped, took pictures and sometimes simply followed the Giant of Light because as we all know: many living beings are attracted by light. Luckily, DUNDU doesn't care much about categories. Neither regarding music genres, nor event types. All we are interested in, is: Does it match our philosophy of connecting people? At a corporate event, the Giant of Light may be the one nobody expected. At a brand experience, he becomes part of the message. At a festival, he dances beyond the crowd. And in the middle of a city? There he can turn people walking by into people staying close. Different occasions, different reason for being there. And probably quite a few more than four.

In Stuttgart people react. And in Santiago they do, too. Not because they understand the same words, but because they understand the same feeling. And that's probably DUNDU's favourite language. No translation, no explanation, but people understanding by heart. It takes five puppet-players to move a Giant of Light. Every step, every gesture, every turn of his head: man-operated, zero computer. Human action and interaction are essential to DUNDU. To make DUNDU come alive. A child reaching out to the Giant of Light. Someone smiling. People dancing with the Giant. That's the moments when „performance” turns into „interaction”.

Our giants reach up to eight metres. Really. Sounds impressive, but can you imagine what that means? For the team? For the audience? For the presentation? Because something that tall, in motion, can also look a bit clumsy. Well, ours don't. There’s a first time for everything, even after travelling the world for quite a while. This time: Malaysia. First time. Big love. The Giants of Light went to Georgetown with our great DUNDU-Bangkok team. And that actually is a really nice example of how we understand working internationally by breaking down borders: Having experienced people not only at home in Stuttgart, Germany, but not far from where the Giants are needed …

So, Malaysia: Nice to meet you. And Asia: Where shall we go next? Any suggestions?

Some like it hot. Some like it cold. Luckily, the Giants of Light are not that picky. They have walked through snow in the mountains, performed quite kneedeep in sand and also a lot of weather happened in between. Nice for pictures and even nicer for event agencies, because outdoor events rarely come with perfect conditions – if there even exist perfect conditions.

Don’t you agree? The best event moments don't always happen where the spotlight is.
Sometimes they happen off stage. When the light changes. The atmosphere changes. And a Giant of Light starts walking beyond the crowd. Because for some experiences it is important to happen right there where the people are. In public space and in their hearts.

Three evenings. Three different Giants of Light. AtTerezijana in Bjelovar, VEKTOR, BIMBI and SPIEGLY didn't perform for the crowd. They made the crowd part of the DUNDU vibe. Streets became meeting spots, passersbybecame photographers and strangers became people feeling the same feeling: childlike wonder. Because that's DUNDU’s main purpose: giving people a reason to stop, smile, and share a moment.
