+++ Short Guide on how to determine localized IAP prices +++
You want to localize your IAPs and absolutely do not know how to start? In this guide we present you a method on how to find an appropriate price for different countries. And the best thing: It only costs you some spare research time.
Step1:
Define the IAP price in your home currency and find a comparable consumer good as reference value.
Example: Your IAP price equals the price of a cappuchino in a restaurant in your home country? Then this is your reference value!
Step 2:
Head on over to http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/ and select the country you want to find a suitable IAP price for. Scroll through the "select country" drop-down menu until you have found your target country and click it.
Step 3:
Switch the currency in the left sided drop down menu to US-Dollar and find the line for the consumer good you defined as reference value. There you find an average price and a min-max price range. These are the values you are looking for.
Step 4:
Edit the price in the app store
Hint and general information:
Of course you can go with the average price, but after comparing the supplied intel for my home country to my personal experience, I consider the lower end value of the price range more suitable.
If you consider this information useful, feel free to like or share this posting. Comments, suggestions and general feedback on alternative methods of finding suitable localized IAP prices are welcome.
P.S.:
I'm not aligned with numbeo.com. I simply consider this database very useful for comparing prices between countries.
