Welcome to Casa Moonvine, our beautiful Spanish-style home with its mountaintop view of the Pacific Ocean. About a 3 ½ - 4 hour drive from the capital city of San Jose , we're located above the Southern Pacific town of Uvita. Here, Casa Moonvine offers the tranquility of a tropical rainforest while moments from the pounding surf. Only a 20 minute, drive from the Costanera (Coastal) Highway, we do

recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. As you climb, you will pleasantly notice the cooler temperatures. Although a hot day at the beach is great, you will be grateful to be sleeping at a very comfortable 1650' above the sea. As you pull into the drive, you can't help but notice all the beautiful landscaping. At any given time a selection of orchids, heliconias, bromeliads and other tropical flowers bloom for your enjoyment and to attract nourish more tropical and migratory birds. Two of Moonvine's best features, are the expansive wrap-around porch and the upstairs Master bedroom balcony. From here, margaritas are drunk, tropical birds are watched, dinner is eaten, Spanish Scrabble is played and stars are wished upon. The house has a well-equipped gourmet kitchen with propane refrigerator/ freezer, stainless steel gas stove and our beloved Flaminetta, an over-sized toaster oven that is amazing. Plenty of culinary and service pieces are to those who like to cook. As restaurant owners, who do like to cook, Craig and I enjoy the airy, interactive kitchen-living space. White stucco walls, red ceramic tile, polished concrete and cypress wood, reflect the craftsmanship of Costa Rican artisans. The Main House has a Master Bedroom Suite and Guest Bedroom Suite, each with full bathrooms, queen-sized beds, comfortable pillows and soft linens. Hot water provided by solar panels, is available in the bathrooms and the kitchen. In addition to the Main House, a separate Guest House with full-sized bed, bath and private roof top terrace, is also available to rent.
