Some days, the most meaningful work happens off the clock - or in this case, on a job site. 🔨

Last summer, multiple(!) Payworks crews spent their paid volunteer days with Habitat for Humanity Manitoba installing joists, putting up siding, and helping build safe, affordable housing for their neighbours.

At Payworks, every employee receives two paid days per year to volunteer for a cause close to their heart. Habitat for Humanity has been a team favourite since our Pay it Forward program launched over a decade ago — and it's easy to see why. 🧡

June is here – which means it’s officially Pride Month! 🌈

Pride Month is a time to celebrate, but it's also a reminder that the fight for safety, inclusion, and belonging is far from over — especially for 2SLGBTQ+ elders who helped pave the way for the rights so many of us enjoy today.

That's why we're proud to support Place of Pride: Canada's first 2SLGBTQ+ campus, being built by the incredible team at Winnipeg's Rainbow Resource Centre. We've had the privilege of supporting Rainbow Resource Centre for years, and contributing $250,000 toward Place of Pride is something our whole team is deeply proud of.

Place of Pride will provide safe, affirming housing and community spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ Manitobans, including the elders who spent their lives fighting for a world where no one needs to hide who they are.

One of our Small Business Client Service Teams recently headed out for a day to one of their favourite Winnipeg organizations: the Winnipeg Humane Society! 🐾🧡

Their day started with a meaningful WHS presentation and a tour of the facility. Afterwards, they spent their time bagging dog kibble to be provided to dog families needing support in providing for their furry family member. 🧡 Before their day wrapped up, they had the opportunity to meet Eric and his lovely dog Jake, a contributor to the WHS therapy program. 🐾

Sounds like a pretty perfect Pay it Forward day, if you ask us!
