I’m weirdly obsessed with outdoor kitchens.

Not just because I like shiny grills (I do)… but because I’ve seen how a well-planned space can totally change how you host.

Hey, I’m Jonny – founder, designer, husband and dad behind Patio Folks. 👋

I actually grew up on the other side of the world, rural New Zealand, where fresh air, family, and being outside weren’t “nice-to-haves”… they were just life.

My grandparents had gardens on tour circuits.

My parents built spaces that made people feel at home.

So I grew up watching how a well-designed space can change how people feel.

More relaxed, more connected, more themselves.

That turned into a decade-long career in landscape architecture… and now into Patio Folks.

Today I live in Canada, and I help Canadians create luxury outdoor spaces that don’t just look good - they feel good.

The kind of space that brings people together, slows life down and reminds you what matters most.

I’ve seen a lot of patios, backyards, and “almost there” outdoor kitchens.

I know what works, what lasts, and what turns a nice space into something unforgettable.
