City On Call worship will start at 11am and will end at approximately 9pm on August 31, 2013 (Saturday) at Plaza of Nations. It is an all day-fasting, continuous worship with the special emphasis on prayer and fasting for this city, and it is FREE. This is an open service for EVERYONE, and you can come and go anytime during the worship (but we encourage you to join from the beginning 'til the end,
if you can). Because this is an outdoor event, please bring your own chairs or blankets to sit on. MISSION: Calling the Body of Christ to go out into the city of Vancouver with the heartfelt conviction that God does indeed have compassion for this great city. (Jonah 4:11)
DESCRIPTION: On August 31, we will gather at the Plaza of Nations for a day of open-air worship consisting of all-day fasting, prayer, praise, and the ministry of the Word of God with the desire to renew within our hearts a passion for the gospel and the city of Vancouver. There also will be a time for the outreach, where several teams will go out into Downtown Vancouver and worship/evangelize in various forms (i.e. praise mob, pray walk, street praise worship, gospel drama and rap, evangelism, and intercessory prayer). PURPOSE/GOAL: Heralding the restoration of God’s people and this city through prayer, fasting, and worship in general as we align our hearts’ to God’s. We hope that through this occasion, that at the very least, we who call ourselves the people of God would not only pray for – but also be stirred to GO OUT – into the city with the gospel.
