May — Where Did You Go? ☀️🌸

I honestly can’t believe it’s the 1st of June already.

May seemed to disappear in a flash, but it was filled with beautiful weather, family time and some fantastic design events.

We were lucky to have an incredible half term with the kids, making the most of the sunshine and enjoying some much-needed time together. Sometimes those simple family moments are just as important as everything else going on.

Alongside that, I managed to fit in Clerkenwell Design Week, Chelsea in Bloom and my first visit to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show .

What struck me most about Chelsea was how many different reasons people had for being there. Some came for the gardens, some for the planting, some for the design, and others simply for a lovely day out. That’s what makes it so special.

I attended on one of the hottest days of the week and made a conscious decision to arrive at 8am — definitely the right choice. The gardens were quieter, the atmosphere calmer, and I had time to really take everything in.

One of the highlights of the month was sharing Clerkenwell Design Week with my Canadian friend , an interior designer from Vancouver. We spent the day discovering new products, discussing brands we both knew and sharing ideas from opposite sides of the Atlantic.

For me, that’s one of the best parts of design events — not just the inspiration, but the conversations and connections you make along the way.

Now June is here, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next month brings.

Where did May take you?

I’ll be honest… I absolutely love a house renovation.

The moment I finish one project, I’m already thinking about the next — showing my husband properties on , talking about homes abroad and imagining what could be restored or completely reworked.

I know that probably sounds exhausting to some people, but for me it’s exciting.

What I love most is that every property is different. Every building has its own architecture, character and story — and every renovation requires a completely different approach.

For me, renovation is never just about making a home look beautiful. It’s about seeing potential, improving how people live, bringing back character and collaborating with architects, builders and trades to bring a vision to life.

It’s not always easy, but there’s something incredibly rewarding about watching a tired property become a home again.

Why renovate?

Because creating a home with intention is a pretty amazing thing.

When Does a Chandelier Make Sense? ✨

I was at Grand Designs Live recently and came across one of the most beautiful chandeliers I’ve seen in a long time, designed by .

What immediately drew me in was how sculptural it felt. It wasn’t just lighting — it felt like a piece of art within the space.

Judit Kollo’s work combines craftsmanship, glass and contemporary design in such a beautiful way. The chandelier had this softness and elegance to it while still making a statement, and honestly, it completely transformed the atmosphere around it.

And it made me think…

When does a chandelier actually make sense in a home?

For me, a chandelier works best when:
✨ you want to create a focal point
✨ the architecture of the room can support it
✨ you want lighting to feel sculptural, not just practical
✨ or when you want to bring softness, atmosphere and a sense of occasion into a space

I also think chandeliers work best when they feel connected to the architecture and scale of the room — not simply added because the space is large enough.

Sometimes the most beautiful ones are actually the more understated pieces. The ones that quietly elevate a room rather than dominate it.

And in renovations especially, lighting can completely change how a home feels emotionally.

That’s what I loved so much about Judit Kollo’s work — it felt thoughtful, artistic and timeless all at once.

✨ Beautiful Spaces, Thoughtfully Designed ✨

I believe the most beautiful homes are the ones that feel effortless to live in — calm, functional, timeless, and deeply personal.

My approach to interior design is rooted in creating spaces that honour the architecture of a home while bringing warmth, texture, and connection through natural materials and thoughtful details.

Whether it’s a full renovation, reimagining a family home, or refining a single room, I work closely with clients to create interiors that truly reflect the way they live.

Based in Tunbridge Wells, designing homes across Kent & London.

If you’re planning a renovation or looking to transform your home, feel free to send me a DM — I’d love to chat about your project.

Time & Style 🇯🇵

When I was walking around Milan during .design.week a couple of weeks ago, I came across .milan.

At the time, I didn’t know anything about the brand — what first caught my attention was simply the shop window. But honestly, the moment I walked inside, it didn’t disappoint.

What I loved immediately was the simplicity of the space. But the more I looked at the furniture, the more I started noticing the incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail in every piece.

Founded in Japan, Time & Style focuses on creating furniture and interiors that celebrate traditional Japanese craftsmanship, natural materials and timeless design. They work with materials such as solid wood, natural fibres and responsibly sourced finishes to create pieces that feel calm, understated and beautifully made.

And that’s what I love so much about Japanese design.

There’s a quietness to it. A simplicity that never feels cold. Everything feels intentional, balanced and connected to the materials being used.

Nothing feels overdesigned — the beauty comes from the craftsmanship, proportions and honesty of the materials themselves.

Walking through the store felt calming, inspiring and thoughtful all at once — one of those spaces that quietly stays with you long after you leave.
