Project story: A conversation with White Oak and Ceramic
This project is a testament to our belief that minimalism is not simple—it is precise. We limited the material palette to two elements: solid White Oak in the elegant “Naturale Dogato” finish, and the textured ceramic, ANANDA, from Italy.
What began as a kitchen renovation evolved into a holistic material study. The homeowner fell in love with the ceramic’s quality, color, and tactility, inspiring us to carry it seamlessly from the kitchen surfaces onto the floor and wall cladding.
The true character of the home, however, lies in its geometry. The architecture presented a significant challenge: every corner meets at a 135-degree angle. This required us to meticulously wrap the Italian ceramic around complex planes—from the cabinet doors and integrated sink to the countertops, toe kicks, and grooves. For us, the greater the challenge, the greater the interest.
The result is a space that feels both clean and organic. It strikes a balance between sharp, modern precision and the gentle, imperfect warmth of Wabi-Sabi. This project remains a favorite because it represents exactly who we are and the complex, bespoke work we seek out.
