A fresh take on vinyl storage.

This is the smaller sibling to my 100-album cabinet, designed to hold about 25 records; your curated playlist for the day. Built from solid Afromosia and grain matched on all sides so the flow carries seamlessly around the entire piece.

The base geometry pushed me a bit. Tight joinery, clean lines, no shortcuts. The final proportions made it worth every minute.

These carriage doors need four large ball-bearing hinges each, so instead of free-handing all eight mortises, I 3D-printed a precise router template. About ten minutes to design and a few hours to print saves a huge amount of time and frustration, and delivers a perfect, repeatable fit every time.

Inspired by a simple DIY Christmas star, I improved the design by cutting half-lap joints so everything locks together cleanly. It’s made from ten identical pieces and assembled with carriage bolts and wing nuts.
