One of the last items at this new build, a nice little fireplace unit with a torrefied maple mantle. Torification is a process where wood is processed at an extremely high temperature to increase stability. It also has the effect of carmelizing the sugars within the wood which helps provide a rich colour. As a side effect torrefied Maple smells just like a pancake breakfast when cut 🤤

This can be done to whatever level of toast or char that you require, pressure tested and shipped back to your facility!

Last year's seedlings were put in the ground in pots a couple weeks ago for them to over winter before going to their final homes. Ended up with 12 white oaks, 6 hazelnuts and 1 black walnut.
I caught a local tree at just the right time this year to harvest acorns and Last night planted another 170 white oaks, we'll see how many sprout!

Really cool project shipped out this week going to and .brews along with some goodies from and
Two horizontal vessels, complete with cooling plates. These vessels are going all the way from PEI on the east coast of Canada to Vancouver Island on the west coast for a true East and West collaboration! Can't wait to see beer in these! Swipe to see some pics throughout the build.
