One of my projects for my cabinetmaking apprenticeship Level 3: a Capone cabinet. Al Capone apparently had these made for smuggling alcohol during the prohibition. Comes complete with a secret compartment.

Back in March I participated in the AWMAC cabinetmaking competition and ended up winning first place in Manitoba. Then they shipped off my cabinet to Toronto to be judged at the National level against the other provincial winners, and I ended up winning first again! What a crazy year this has been!

What a day! I won the gold medal at the Skills Canada National Competition in the category of cabinetmaking!!

And as if that wasn’t enough, I also won the “RBC Best In Region” award for having the highest overall score of all the Manitoba competitors across all the trades. How crazy is that?!

My mind is a little blown right now.
