Imagine two workers at the Century Boat Company in Manistee Michigan in October 1953. They are building a brand new Century Seamaid 18. One says to the other, “do you think that some guy born this month is going to have to re tighten all of these screws in 72 years from now?”

The shop is pretty much back to normal. 1957 Century Resorter ongoing restoration, 1956 Century Coronado getting spring clean up and preparation for name painting on her transom, 1971 Giesler, refinishing over winter complete. 1958 Peterborough also being prepped for name painting. New build Glen-L Sq**rt ready for final planing to accept hull planking.

It sure is clean in the shop today after our weeklong workshop with Camp Outlook. Kinda miss the excitement of those bus...

Day 3 of our workshop with Camp Outlook. Campers have chosen to name the canoes “Thing one” and “Thing two” the second coat of red paint was applied today along with the start of the graphics. Progress continues with the re finishing of paddles and the start of some folk art to be taken home at the end of the week.
