The main motivation for designing this footrest was to address lower back pain. Sitting for long periods of time, believe it or not, can set a person up for back problems. they can be a number of issues. bad posture, pinched nerves in the lower back, vascular circulation issues, swelling in the lower legs. Our Humble Footrest is not a cure nor will it prevent any serious issues caused by other health problems or unhealthy habits but... it can and may help mitigate potential problems for people who sit or remain stationary for extended lengths of time.
