Rebecca Witmer, furnishings re-loved

Rebecca Witmer, furnishings re-loved I refinish furniture: pieces I collect (and wish I could keep), as well as commissions for those who have tired treasures.

Here you'll find examples of my work -- once I become more proficient at managing my photos ;)

Took a trip to my friend's horse farm ... Only a few minutes after arriving, this happened ... The puppy seemed at least a little contrite, but the cat could not have cared less ... Was still a good visit 😄 *tkickers

Time to get blanching and freezing those greens ... Homegrown celery and arugula don't look fancy, but they will boost my winter cooking nutritionally and flavour-ly ... It will also feel good to accomplish something after spoiling myself Friday with a road trip 😜

Who could use a little glamour? This waterfall dresser is showing off a combination of killer veneers. The frame needed paint, so I chose deep peacock teal to harken back to the art deco era. The barest touch of metallic gold -- dry-brushed on the horizontal details -- complements the original handles. Clean drawers with waxed runners.

Who else has been making this since the days of Home Ec ?? Hot fudge pudding -- or lava cake if you're trendy -- tossed together like an impossible science experiment, then out it comes like a brownie-and-sauce miracle ... and you have to try to eat it all cuz it doesn't age overly well :P

... serendipity ...

... when circumstances result in unforeseen happiness. As we are all learning to tread a little more softly on this earth, it turns out my old hobby of refinishing furniture is something people are seeking. Furnishings speak to me, pieces that perhaps have been knocked around a bit and are looking somewhat sad. I recognize their value, re-imagine their potential, repair and refinish them ... Re-becca them, really ;) I prepare them for a place in your home, and use many of today’s more environmentally conscious products to do so. Here you’ll find an eclectic collection of pieces I have rescued (commission work is available, as well).
