Kindling Unique and beautiful artwork, jewellery and connections to nature. It is this strong connection to nature that is his inspiration.

Grandson to a mid-20th century cabinet maker and specialist carpenter, Shawn McShane has been working with wood since he was a child, often found playing with shavings and end cuts in his Grandfathers workshop. As he grew he learned to understand the wood and began designing and hand carving his own paddles; an interest sparked by Shawn’s passion for canoe tripping and the outdoors. Shawn now live

s on a small farm in southern Ontario, Canada where he is raising two sons while working as an outdoor educator, canoe/kayak guide and artist. The artist and his family still spend more of their time in the open-air than they do indoors, exploring the forests, lakes and wilderness that they are grateful to have right outside their door. He sees the beauty in wood, the perfection in its imperfection, and is able to transform pieces of wood into beautiful pieces of art.
