Well that slows things down a little! The disadvantage to milling urban wood is that logs from backyards can contain hardware such as nails. A nail completely destroyed this blade, I have never seen the teeth fold over like this.

Sometimes logs take longer to mill simply because there is such an amazing story the tree has to tell throughout its growing years that I cannot help but stop between cuts to explore. This amazing White Oak was one of those!

One of my favourite projects is turning new taps for on the wood lathe. I don't get on the lathe regularly, but when I do I'm convinced it is the most relaxing tool in the shop. Here are some new taps, made of Butternut and Black Walnut scraps, getting a final coat of polyx satin finish.
