Check this out ‼️ ⬇️⬇️⬇️
I envisioned this Art Deco waterfall dresser with a boat load of character and visual interest, and I think the end result speaks directly to that vision!
This road side find was stumbled upon by my dad while out for his daily walk. He sent me a photo of this dresser and asked if I wanted him to pick it up. Needless to say, he skirted back home 🚶🏻 got his vehicle 🚘 and picked it up for me 💪🏻 Thanks, dad ☺️
However, this piece that I envisioned with a boat load of character, also came with a boat load of work…
The veneer was carefully removed from the top, repairs were completed, the decorative detailing and hardware holes were filled in, and it was completely stripped of its original finish.
A limited edition colour, Neverland; a deep and enigmatic dark olive green by Country Chic Paint was used to refinish this piece. Subtle wood accents were left unpainted and rather re-stained using Minwax in Pecan.
Having filled in the etched detailing down the drawer fronts, I decided to add wood “fluting” for visual interest and as a decorative accent. I cut individual strips and attached them using my “can’t live without” DEWALT laser level and a nail gun, then filled all the holes and painted the strips for cohesiveness.
All 4 drawers were fully lined using a high quality wallpaper by Rasch with a gorgeous 😍black and gold fan pattern boasting with Art Deco flair. The top drawer front was also decoupaged with wallpaper.
Haoth vintage pulls made of zinc alloy casting, with an antique brass finish were added (again, using the “can’t live without” Dewalt laser level) and the entire piece was sealed with Country Chic Paint clear wax. This stunner stands proud on its original castors 🤩🤩
What do you think of this makeover?! 🤔
