The Midget AA Junior Oil Barons had their season shut down in the Northern Alberta Midget Hockey League’s division quarter-finals as the team fell to the Big Lakes Thunder on the road.

After winning their last game before the Christmas break, the Midget AA Junior Oil Barons returned to the ice this past weekend, only to be defeated twice by the visiting Lloydminster Blazers in the Frank Lacroix Arena. The squad lost 5-3 Saturday and 4-1 Sunday. Managing all three goals for the JOB Saturday was Quinton Sudom, assisted twice by Nick Runnalls. Austin Canete contributed to Sudom's hat trick as well. Sunday, the lone goal-scorer for Fort McMurray was Nick Cossa, assisted by Ryan Mercer and Runnalls.

The first set of games at home proved to be a learning experience for the Midget AA Junior Oil Barons this past weekend as a stronger, older Peace River Royals team spoiled the JOB’s home opener.
