This little child's platform rocker is still owned by the original owner .
She has had this chair since she was two years old (1968 !! )
She has decided to hand it down to her beautiful granddaughter who is turning one in May . 🥰
Michelle had it recovered to a lovely modern look.
I kept a piece of the original fabric and stapled it to the underside stating the age of the chair and the year we upholstered it.
What a wonderful keepsake and I am so in awe of the fond memory behind it.
Such a great joy to do. ❤

Beautiful chair done in Buffalo hide and a beautiful chenille.
We left the wood as is with all the scuffs .
This chair is a memory piece whereas it belonged to the customer's father.
When the father originally picked up the chair to take it home it had fallen off the car .
His father is passed now so the scuff on the chair have become a fond memory of the story behind it.
I made sure to write the story inside on the frame for the next upholsterer to read with glee as they strip it down.
It is always lovely to find special things in the furniture we redo.

You can take those old flattened out chair seats and add a 2'' foam topper along with a beautiful stripe fabric to keep with the timelessness of the chairs natural beauty while bringing them back to life . The 2'' is so much more comfortable ☺ This dining set is beautiful !
