When I started working on this bowl a few months ago, my sole purpose was to finish it in time to put our newly born son in there. (I know, cheesy) As with a lot of things lately, I was not able to make the deadline 😂 BUT I was able to finish before he outgrew this bowl, luckily.

Bowl is made of ash and is about 54cm in diameter and about 18cm deep. Started as a solid piece of about 50kg. It can hold quite some cereal, especially for you hungry people out there 😘.

I am definitely trying to push my limits each time I get to turning something. This piece of olive ash is 54cm in diameter. I know this is far from the limit my lathe is capable of, but it’s the biggest one I turned to date. Came from a tree that had a 70cm Ø.
Now for drying 🤞

It has been a while since I posted due to several reasons (moving etc). But now I am back, up and running very soon agai...

It has been a while since I posted due to several reasons (moving etc). But now I am back, up and running very soon again I hope! ☺️

Here is a bowl I finished just last week, ash with a beautiful pattern. Rock hard, built to last a lifetime!
