It serves as a platform for AMU graduates in Bangladesh to engage in social activities & promote the values & legacy of their alma mater. The Aligarh Old Boys’ Association is a non-political body and its activities are confined to social, culture and educational matters. The principal aims and objectives of the association as embodied in its constitutions are as follows:
1. The association shall
Endeavour to assist in the development of education through a system which aims at prompting good and self-reliant citizens imbued with the ideals of service to fellowmen, the society and the nation; and which fosters mutual understanding tolerance and a sense of brotherhood among men, such as Aligarh did.
2. To set up cultural, charitable and humanitarian instruction.
3. To set up institutions for educating masses for successful participations in economic, social and cultural development of the country.
4. To set up educational institutions and centres in Bangladesh for imparting education and knowledge through modern and scientific methods.
5. To offer every assistance as far as possible to such Aligarh Old Boys’ and their families as may be in need there of including award of scholarship to their children and dependents and/or such other meritorious students as the Association deems deserving.
6. To promote such liability, cultural, social and athletic persuits as the Association may decide from time to time.
