HONOURING HISTORY WITH BOTANICALS 🌿🦋✨
Some pieces carry generations of stories, and this early 1900s family heirloom was certainly one of them.
When it arrived at our studio, time had taken its toll. The frame was chipped and structurally compromised, and past DIY repairs had left behind exposed staples and sharp, buckled nails. But underneath it all was solid Australian cedar—releasing its nostalgic, sweet aroma the moment we began sanding.
Our lovely Warragul client gave us the best brief: strip away the damage and bring this tired piece back to life as a bright, joyful celebration of her mother’s memory.

💙 The Frame: Restored, reinforced, and finished in a vibrant cobalt blue to pop against its detailed wood carvings.
🌺 The Fabric: Reupholstered in a plush, rich botanical velvet brimming with kingfishers, irises, and butterflies.
