Great start to the week. We are having major phone line troubles today, no one seems to be able to get through to us (thought it was rather quiet!) Have lodged a fault with Telstra and hoping to have our lines up and running again by this afternoon.

This weekend is going to be HOT. Keep cool, but also don't forget about your beautiful animals too, they need plenty of shade, lots of water and cool spots to be comfortable as well!

This weekend is set for some extremely scorching heat. A little tip to keep cool over the next few days is to try and turn the air conditioner on as early as possible.
If you can turn your air conditioner on while the temperature outside is still relatively cool this will increase the efficiency of the air conditioner as there is less difference between the internal and external temperatures, making it easier for the air conditioner to reach the desired temperature and then maintain it.

How is everyone coping with this heat we are currently experiencing? more of the same is forecast over the next few days.
A few tips on keeping your home cool are:
1) Close all windows and doors to stop hot air coming into your house and heating it up. It’s nice to catch a cooling breeze very early in the morning but be ready to shut doors and windows before the heat starts. This will stop hot air from getting in and heating up the house from the inside.
2) Be sure to also draw all curtains and blinds on the sunny side of the house. Do this early to maintain a nice comfortable temperature inside.
3) Turn on your air conditioner early in the day to cool the house quickly with the minimum of energy use.
4) Sit back and enjoy your cool home.
