A couple of months ago, the town I call home lost its greatest asset (sorry ). opened its stunning hardwood doors and windows for one last time and in the evening the community gathered to reminisce on a wild five years. During the past 6 months in particular, I have spent countless hours here, sipping on great coffee and absorbing as much wisdom as possible from master . A few months ago, Jed surfed one of my boards on a magical afternoon in Beowa National Park. His feedback gave me the confidence to launch Sixfish. The support I have received from the wonderful Eva and her team of legends has been phenomenal and I cannot thank you all enough!

The countdown is on until you could win this Paulownia door! I’m yet to cut the outline, refine the rails and carve the bottom contours but when finished it will be an ancient Hawaiian surf craft re-inspired by master shaper known as the Alaia! Dearest followers,
I feel like a know you all personally and I cannot thank you enough for the support you have shown me in establishing Sixfish. Whilst I’ve never felt more confident that I can help shape the future of sustainable surfboard manufacturing, it has taken a toll on my mental health. I have been diagnosed with type 1 bipolar and find myself as an involuntary consumer at Bega Mental Health Facility.
It comes with great sadness that I will be stepping away from Sixfish for summer. Chasing a dream is an amazing feeling but when it takes a toll on people around you, you have to stop and reflect.
I love shaping timber surfboards and am exited to start again (I simply haven’t had the time or headspace to lately). I love trying out other peoples boards but really need to be surfing my own. I want Sixfish to be the best version of itself and that requires capital. I’ve never worked a 9-5 job and I’d like to experience that before I change the world.
This being said! I am honouring all current orders and the order book will remain open with 20 boards being shaped in 2023, first in best dressed.

.karli at and I have decided to close the PayPal link at 5 pm Thursday the 1st of December. Until then, any donation you make will still be split between Sixfish and Headspace Bega. If you wish to donate to either cause separately, simply send me a private message!

After a stressful week, I spend the morning hanging out with the local grommets from . Surf prodigy Jack was keen to have a crack on an alaia, as shown by the cheesy grin in the second photo. On his second wave he got to his feet and glided along a 2 foot runner, a skill I am yet to master. I also spent a lot of time chatting with Will, pictured on barbie duty, right of image 3. He is a 12 year old entrepreneur who explained to me how a hydraulic skateboard press works! I offered him a job at Sixfish when he finishes school. Getting to know the next generation of surfers in our community not only leaves me feeling stoked, it confirms to me that I’m on the right path and that the future is in safe hands
