🔔 A Family’s History, Preserved in Timber
From the original corn shed on the Middlebrook family’s Wirrabirra property in the Gloucester region of the NSW Mid North Coast—held and worked by the family for 59 years—this timber now carries a new life and meaning.
Set among rolling grazing country and a long-standing working cattle property, Wirrabirra has been part of the Middlebrook family’s farming story for generations. The old corn shed stood as a quiet reminder of years of hard work, seasonal harvests, and life on the land.
This beautiful custom bell display was designed and handcrafted by Paul and Cooper using that very timber, transforming a piece of the family’s farming past into a lasting heirloom.
The display now proudly houses a remarkable collection of bells, including:
🔔 Ronald Cyril Middlebrook’s original cowbell, used while dairying at Tugrabakh, Gloucester, during the 1940s
🔔 Nathan Brian Middlebrook’s bell, made in Innsbruck, Austria, for the Craven Creek Simmental Stud, established in 1994
đź”” Other special bells collected from Austria, Switzerland and Ontario, Canada
Adding an extra layer of family story, the kids have also decided to include their own personal touches—placing ribbons from the Royal Easter Show in the spare space at the bottom of the display, bringing a beautiful modern connection to the family’s ongoing agricultural journey.
From weathered farm timber to a meaningful family heirloom, this was an incredibly special project for Tucker’s Lane Custom Furniture.
