Come join furniture maker Jono Everett and I in the workshop later this September for collaborative sculpture build project: MORPHOLOGY.

Hosted for this years New Annual festival, we will be hosting 7 days of building in our beautiful workshop in Mayfield East.

All welcome - no matter your skill level, we will be teaching some tool and joinery skills along the way.

Tickets are available in half-day segments - come for half a day or join or multiple!

I’m incredibly excited to embark on the the next 18 weeks of social enterprise coaching thanks to AMP Foundationn and Impact Boom to take Built In-Kind to the next level and have greater reach and impact in people’s lives.

I’m very grateful for the mentoring of those I have worked with to date, who have informed the Built in-Kind model and the social services and community who are committed to seeing us grow!

Built In-Kind, founded by Hannah, an architecture graduate and fabricator, offers practical workshops that teach tool-use, design, and construction skills to diverse communities. Hannah's work in designing Trauma-Informed Spaces for social services inspired her to create Built In-Kind, a platform aimed at equipping marginalised communities to take control of their own built environments.

The workshops, combined with custom furniture design and construction, provide participants with the confidence and skills needed to improve their employment opportunities, housing security and confidence. Built In-Kind promotes community building through learning and collaborative construction projects.

Come join us for two beautiful evenings in Built In-Kind's historical Mayfield workshop NEXT WEEK!

We have a few positions left in our evening Utility/ Pocket Knife forging class, where you will be taught in a small class how to recycle, temper, shape and grind/ sharpen steel into an amazing utility/ pocket knife, and to cut and hand-stitch a leather sheath.

This class includes:
*All materials
*Small group tuition
*Take home of your hand-forged knife and sheath - which will become an heirloom in your home and your family!
*Dinner, desert, and a whiskey to sip while we stitch!

Built In-Kind workshops are open to people of all (or no) experience! This class is appropriate for beginners looking to learn about metal and leather work, or for seasoned makers interested in learning from one of the countries finest tool-makers.

Liam Culbertson is visiting us from Melbourne, Victoria, and is a blacksmith, green wood-worker, tool-maker and teacher.
