The Adjacent Possible

The idea for The Adjacent Possible originated from a discussion over coffee between two friends that desired to build a stronger music community. A place where artists could feel supported, and build networks and fan bases in the music industry as a collective. Steven Johnson, author of ‘Where Good Ideas Come From’,
discusses that if we want to encourage innovation, we need to design workspaces to

support it. The name of the event was coined from a chapter in the authors’ book, reflecting the heart and soul of this event.

“The strange and beautiful truth about the adjacent possible is that its boundaries grow as you explore them. Each new combination opens up the possibility of other new combinations.” (Johnson 2011)
