Well…. we finally got there!

After two years of lockdowns and cancellations Argus Technologies were lucky enough to finally showcase two of our domestic projects in last Friday’s online ceremony of the 2020/2021 Victorian NECA Awards.

Argus Technologies are extremely proud to have both projects win the award for Best Domestic Project in their respective categories.

Our “Hobsons Bay” project wins Best Domestic Electrical Installation under $100K and features Control4 home automation that integrates lighting, HVAC, security and entertainment. This project features our Control4 Rinnai driver developed in collaboration with Rinnai and Chowmain Software to be one of the first homes in Australia to fully integrate a Brivis HVAC system with Control4.

Our “Bayside” project wins Best Domestic Electrical Installation over $100K to follow on from its success at the MEA awards in Nov 2021. Featuring complete electrical and lighting works, this extensive home utilizes a Control4 system to integrate CBUS lighting, security, CCTV, HVAC, motorized blinds, distributed entertainment and a dedicated home theatre.

Extremely proud to announce that Argus Technologies have been awarded as winner for Residential Project of the Year at the 2021 Master Electrician Awards held over the weekend.

Taking home both the State(Victoria) and National titles, the project features complete electrical and lighting works whilst exhibiting the latest in Control4 automation to integrate CBUS lighting, security, HVAC and distributed audio / video with a dedicated home theatre.

With all works done in and around Melbourne covid lockdowns, this has been without a doubt one of the most testing and rewarding projects we've conducted due to the many pressures and restrictions placed upon the business and it's staff.

So great to see Victorian businesses dominating the awards in what has been such a challenging period for all of us.

A great little setup proving to be popular at the moment that shows an automation system doesn’t need to be expansive for your home to get some smart features.

This installation features full wired and wireless networking to support security, CCTV, intercom, door locks, garage door control, some Sonos music and a handful of zigbee lighting circuits. Everything integrated into a Control4 system that also caters to future expansion.

Loving the installation of these new Control4 T4 touchscreens. Fitted to this lucky clients home it provides centralised control of of music, lighting, cameras, security and door locks. Not forgetting Control4’s Intercom Anywhere access to the front gate and the clients mobile devices running the Control4 app.

We are excited to announce that our ‘BAYSIDE’ project has also been nominated as a state finalist for ‘Residential Project of the Year’ by the Victorian branch of Master Electricians Australia.
With the awards ceremony delayed due to covid and lockdown restrictions, we’re hopeful Melbourne can pull through this latest lockdown and return to some normality for an awards ceremony in late November. Best of luck to all the finalists!✌️

Some fantastic updates by Control4 in their latest OS3.2.3 platform release. The improvements to remote connection have been a welcome update to better support our clients whilst we’re in lockdown conditions.
For clients, the ability to enable a new night mode backlight schedule for their T3/T4 touchscreens and set custom EQ settings for their Control4 audio zones will be popular additions to rollout.

We are excited to announce that our ‘BAYSIDE’ project has been nominated as an Asia-Pacific finalist in the upcoming 2021 CEDIA Awards. Thank-you to our client and our team for making this possible.

To even complete and submit a project during Melbourne’s covid restrictions has been a journey on its own. It’s fantastic to see other Melbourne based integrators also being nominated and we wish all finalists the best of luck with their entries too!

Programming day at the office. Making the most of lockdown and COVID site restrictions by pre-commissioning this nice little Control4, network and CCTV setup before final fit-off. This particular job also features Control4 smart lighting, integrated intercom, security and access control.

Unfortunately, due to Melbourne’s current lockdown the 20/21 Victorian NECA Awards have been postponed, with a new date to be advised. For a “Monday Memory” we were fortunate several years ago to be awarded the NECA title for Best Domestic Residence Project for this amazing home.

Featuring full home electrical, lighting, and smart wiring architecture the project was awarded for its complete smart home integration. This included a CBUS lighting system, HVAC and motorised blind control, extensive security, CCTV and access control, plus a seventeen-zone distributed audio-visual system with home theatre.

With most of us using mobile phones these days, it’s becoming increasingly rare to see a traditional landline phone within the home.

Even more unique was this authentic British phone box we were asked to integrate into a clients secret garden. It features a proper working telephone patched into the homes telephony network, with the night-light integrated into the CBUS system that turns on nightly with the garden lighting.
