Friends who bought the bedroom furniture set on the right from Helen's House wanted grandmas chair to also feature in their room ... but, as you can see, it didn't quite go.

The chair was carefully sanded back on the base and arms and then finished in the same paint wash as the tallboy and bedsides. The remainder was primed with Dixie Belles clear Boss Primer and painted in Byzantine Blue.

The divots and dings were left untouched to maintain historical integrity and character.

I love these old pieces that have such a story to tell 🥰

I have a living room set which has been sanded and primed and is waiting for its fresh new look. The set includes low line TV cabinet, Coffee Table and Sideboard table.

This set could be any colour you want with white washed or stained tops and either gold, silver or black handles.

Progress photos of Butterfly cabinet ...

Working out the placement of the k***s was very tricky - I ended up doing a bowed arrangement so they would not stand out from the image and I wanted to get the holes drilled before I glued the paper on ... just in case (I stuffed it up 😁)

I love this image - such a 3D effect - it's like the butterfly is fluttering over the dresser. The paper comes from MINT by michelle - Just gorgeous!

It's coming along ... I will show the finished product soonish ...

A small cabinet with a real coastal vibe ...

Painted with Dixie Belles 'Bay Breeze' a very soft blue grey and the top done in an Oil based gel stain 'Pickling White' also from DB. The stain gives the timber a gorgeous lime wash effect.

This little unit looks so fresh and inviting now🌸

It has been a bit of slow week - every time I went to do something - it started to rain!

It wasn't enough rain to be productive, such as filling our tanks to overflow or really saturating the grass in preparation for the winter dry spell - No - it was only enough to be really annoying 😅! ...

I don't think I have ever lifted furniture in and out of the workshop as many times as I did this week 😅

Anyway - here is a beautiful transformation to end it off. I was going to fashion a mirror for this one but kind of like it as a desk or maybe a wall mirror would suit if needed at all.

I have covered the stool in a gorgeous painterly floral fabric.

But, I especially love the funky confetti drawer liners that I picked up 'brand new and unopened' from a recycle shop on the Sunny Coast.

It certainly pays to look around 😁.

I'm a bit excited to do another decoupage piece after saying goodbye to my Ballerina yesterday...

It headed up to Rockhampton to its new home. I hope they love it as much as we did.

My family asked if I was sad to see it go - I thought it was such a funny question because we have absolutely no room to keep it and our grand child is a boy who has shown no interest, thus far, in ballet.

But I must say, my husband loved it and he did say that he had to walk away while he was helping them pack it into the trailer 😅. I got some great photos of it so I am very happy - you can't keep everything!

This next one will be a slim tallboy with a stunning butterfly from 'Mint by Michelle'.

Stay tuned - I'm a bit hooked on this now ... so more of these to come 🥰

These little cuties have been painted in a variety of chalk paint colours from Peppermint to Cornish blue.

I was painting over balinese pieces, so instead of extensive sanding I gave them a good clean and painted two coats of Dixie Belle Boss Clear Primer as the undercoat (I still wanted some of that wood colour to show through in places)... This primer is a stain blocker that literally sticks to anything and stops any saps or tannins from bleeding through the paint layers.

They are now looking so fresh, coastal and colourful ⛱️.

These pieces have been given quite a transformation. The new handles meant bogging up the original holes in order to add the new bar handles.

New feet were added to each piece to give them an uplift and a bit of style.

A fine detail strip was added just above the bases to give more balance and a point of interest.

The natural tops and feet were finished with a combination of 'Fireside Ash' and 'Au Natural' gel stains. The pieces have been painted with half and half mix of 'French Linen' and 'Dried Sage' chalk mineral paint (which I think is a gorgeous neutral colour that will suit most decor) all from Dixie Belle Paint Company
