We left the stunning sunset at Taylors Lake & drove to Naracorte in SA, staying at the showground. A day was spent at Wonambi Fossil Centre where a guide took us through the Victoria Fossil Cave. Very interesting.
On the way to Mt Gambia we stopped at the wood carvings in memory of Father Julian Woods, who was able to combine his love of God with his interest in science & nature. He inspired Mary MacKillop's devotion to the education of all children, regardless of wealth & social standing. In 1866 they co-founded the first school of Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.

Before we were marooned in total isolation on the Murray River, I would like to share a section of our trip leeding up to this point.
The silo tour from Patchewollock to Ripanyup was very interesting, the day ending at Taylors Lake free camp with a beautiful sunset.

Our group of four intrepid travellers, left Sydney 4 weeks ago, with a comprehensive itinerary to last us for at least 12 months. Well, the months of of planning quickly changed when the Corinavirus hit.
Free campsites were being closed off & we were lucky to find a picturesque spot on the banks of the beautiful Murray River, to hold out for as long as necessary.
After ridding the camp area of toilet paper, (now we know why it's in short supply) we are trying to relieve the river if its Carp population.

We're off again on another adventure B4 Dementia. Two Cockatoos, two Galahs & one dog have flown the coup, leaving the city life behind, planning to travel in convoy for 7mths or so towards WA. First stop the lovely town of Cowra, with the beautiful Japanese Gardens & the unfortunate history of the WW2 POW Camp, where the Japanese carried out a mass escape resulting in the deaths of 234 Japanese & 5 Australians.

We stayed a few days chilling out at Calliope Rest area. We heard stories from a few resident campers, of the bream that were caught in the river.
One of the lovely benifits of camping, is the people you meet. You don't have the same opportunities at home.

A great day exploring Kroombit Tops NP. You need a 4WD to visit the crash site of Beautiful Betsy, a WW11 B-241 Liberator Bomber. She crashed in 1945, with 8 people on board & was discovered by chance when a ranger was doing fire reduction in 1994.
