SEE: ‘The Outsiders’ an art collaboration with Almost Iris

A collaboration with Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist and illustrator Marta Oktaba of Almost Iris – celebrates the joy of the outdoors across the Space front windows. Someone is reading a book, another is gazing at the sky, enjoying a quiet moment, while another walks their dogs, and someone else leans against a wall, ready to take a bite of an apple — each individual playfully interacting with pieces from the Space outdoor collection. It's a scene that captures summer’s quieter moments of relaxation.

‘The Outsiders’ is now on show at Space Furniture in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Singapore.

Bask in that afternoon sun on the Flair O' outdoor chair designed by for . The backrest is woven on a special circular loom (tombolo) in line with an ancient technique typical of the area where the B&B Italia headquarter is located. To fine-tune it, Monica Armani collaborated with unPIZZO, a design studio based in Cantù, which specializes in the recovery and development of traditional weaving techniques revisited in a contemporary key and applied to the furnishing sector.

MORE SPACE: Patricia Urquiola’s ‘micro architectures’ for clay powerhouse Bitossi

Storytelling, rigour and kindness are the words used by Spanish born, Milan-based designer and architect when asked to describe the historic , one of Italy’s oldest ceramics producers that first opened their workshop in 1921. This year the internationally recognised ceramic maker released their first pieces designed in collaboration with Urquiola, a collection of 'micro architectures' inspired by construction details.
