Not every kitchen needs a complete rebuild.

This Clifton Beach kitchen is a great example of what can be achieved with a well-planned reface.

The existing kitchen was given a much lighter, fresher feel with Polytec Gossamer White Ravine cabinetry and Polytec Plantation Ash Wood Matt laminate benchtops, while retaining the existing layout and tiled splashback.

Same kitchen. Very different feel.

If your kitchen is feeling dated, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to start from scratch. CMT Cabinets can talk through what can be retained, what could be updated, and what makes sense for your space.

CMT Cabinets is 1! 🎉

It’s been one year of designing, building and installing custom cabinetry across Cairns and Far North Queensland - and what a first year it’s been.

While CMT Cabinets might only be one year old, the experience behind the business goes back much further, with Chad bringing more than 25 years of cabinetry experience to every job.

From kitchens and wardrobes to vanities, laundries and custom cabinetry, we’re incredibly grateful for every client who has trusted us with their home, and every builder, supplier and local business we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported CMT Cabinets during our first year. Whether you’ve booked a job, recommended us, shared our work or simply followed along - we appreciate it.

Here’s to year two and plenty more cabinetry to come.

If you’ve never had custom cabinetry made before, you might be wondering what actually happens after you make that first enquiry.

It generally starts with a conversation about the space, what you need and what you’d like to achieve. From there comes measuring, planning and design, manufacture and then installation.

You don’t need to know every detail before you contact CMT Cabinets. Part of the job is helping work through what will suit the space and how the cabinetry needs to function.
CMT Cabinets works across Gordonvale, Cairns and surrounding Far North Queensland on custom cabinetry for renovations, new builds and other projects.

Not every cabinetry job needs to be a large renovation.

This compact office kitchenette fitout in Cairns was all about making a small space practical - adding storage, bench space, a sink and dedicated space for everyday appliances.

Finished in Polytec Polar White Sheen, with a Polytec Marmo Di Torrie Smooth laminate benchtop, this fitout keeps things clean, practical and easy to maintain while making good use of a relatively small footprint.

CMT Cabinets works on residential cabinetry as well as selected office and commercial fitouts across Cairns, Gordonvale and surrounding Far North Queensland.

If you’ve got an office, staff room or other space that needs a custom cabinetry solution, feel free to get in touch.

We’re always grateful when a customer takes the time to share their experience.

Martha recently had CMT Cabinets complete cabinetry for her kitchen in Cairns and highlighted something that matters just as much to us as the finished result - the process from the initial measurements right through to installation.

Good cabinetry should look right once it’s installed, but it also needs to be practical, well made and completed with care.

Thank you, Martha, for trusting Chad and Maree with the project and for such lovely feedback.

If you’re planning a kitchen, pantry or other cabinetry project around Cairns, Gordonvale or surrounding areas, you’re always welcome to get in touch and talk through what you have in mind.

A bathroom vanity has to work pretty hard for a relatively small part of the room. It needs to provide useful storage, suit the available space, work around plumbing and still fit with the overall look of the bathroom.

That’s why custom vanity design is about more than choosing a colour and a basin. Things like drawer placement, cupboard access and the way the space is used every day all matter.

CMT Cabinets designs and manufactures custom bathroom vanities for renovations and new builds across Gordonvale, Cairns and surrounding areas.

If you’re planning a bathroom project, we’re happy to talk through what could work in your space.

Custom cabinetry vs store-bought - it really comes down to the space.

Store-bought storage can work well when the room is straightforward and the sizing fits.

But when you’re dealing with an awkward area like this under-stair space, custom cabinetry gives you the opportunity to use far more of what’s available.

Instead of placing a standard store-bought unit underneath and leaving the rest unused, the cabinetry can be designed to follow the shape of the stairs and create practical storage right across the space.

That’s one of the biggest benefits of custom cabinetry - it’s designed around the room rather than simply placed into it.

CMT Cabinets creates custom cabinetry and storage solutions for homes throughout Gordonvale, Cairns and surrounding areas.

A little look at some of the cabinetry CMT Cabinets has created for homes across Cairns and Far North Queensland.

Every project is different.

It might be a new kitchen, a more practical laundry, a custom vanity, better wardrobe storage or cabinetry designed to make use of an awkward area.

That’s the advantage of having cabinetry made specifically for the home - it can be planned around the space and what the owners actually need it to do.

CMT Cabinets is based in Gordonvale and services Cairns and surrounding areas, working with homeowners from the initial ideas through to manufacture and installation.

A small laundry can still work incredibly well when the cabinetry is designed around the space.

This one makes better use of the available wall height, provides practical storage and keeps the layout clean and easy to use without making the room feel crowded.

That’s one of the advantages of custom cabinetry. Rather than trying to make standard cupboards fit, the cabinetry can be planned around the room and what the homeowner actually needs from it.

A kitchen should be designed around more than just how it looks.

It should work around how you cook, where you need storage, what you use every day and how your family moves through the space.

These are six different kitchens created by CMT Cabinets - and no two need to be the same.

That’s one of the benefits of custom cabinetry. Instead of trying to make standard cabinetry work in your room, the kitchen can be designed around your home and the way you use it.
