Silky Oak has officially won my heart. 🤎

This one was a labour of love — hours (and hours 😅) of sanding, stripping back years of old finish, and a fair bit of trial and error trying to find the right stain.

There were definitely a few “what have I done?!” moments along the way - but THAT GRAIN… 😍

Watching this beautiful silky oak come back to life made every hour worth it. The depth, movement and character in this timber is just incredible, and the finished piece has absolutely melted my heart.

This is why I love furniture restoration so much. Sometimes the most beautiful part of an old piece is already there — it just needs someone willing to uncover it. 🤎

Finished using feastwatson products ✨

Are we craving a little more REAL again? 👀

I LOVE how beautiful AI staging can make a piece look (clearly 😂), but lately I’ve been wondering whether we’ve taken furniture photos a little too far.

Marketplace definitely doesn’t feel like it used to, and I know I’m not the only furniture flipper noticing it.

So… I’m going back to basics. Real furniture. Real photos. Outside my shed. 😂

Will it make a difference? Absolutely no idea. But I’m going to test it and report back!

Furniture flippers — what are you finding at the moment? Are real photos making a comeback? 👇
