Silky oak, my absolute FAVOURITE Australian timber species.

This old girl passed down through generations, brought back to life with a bit of stripper, a bit of sanding, and A LOT of elbow grease!

[ CABINET ]

My client brought in this gorgeous vintage timber cabinet that she loved but it no longer suited the style of her home.

After trialling a few colours, we settled on this custom mix, kind of a taupe mushroom shade, to tie in with the grain of the marble top and really make it pop!

Handles were resprayed in black, the contrast looks timeless.

My client brought in this gorgeous sold timber sideboard that fit perfectly as an extension to her kitchen workspace, however it no longer suited the decor of her home.

She chose Apothecary Grey to match in with the kitchen bench colour, with the body in white to really make it a standout.

Practical. Useful. Beautiful.

[ PIANO STOOL ]

My client, like me, is a massive fan of silky oak, and brought in this gorgeous little piano stool to use as a dresser stool.

The natural choice for this solid timber piece was to sand it all back to natural, lots of machine sanding followed by stripper for the intricate parts, and lashings of gloss lacquer to really showcase that grain.

I also refinished the little side table so my client has somewhere to place her cuppa!

My client certainly loves her colour, and knew the exact colour scheme when she brought this cane rattan armchair in mint condition in to be refinished.

Refinished in the gorgeous Wild Strawberry by Porters Paints, this effervescent pop of colour paired with the classic black ticking fabric exudes maximalism!

Perfect for sipping a latte on the veranda on a glorious Brisbane morning.

I decided to go for a bold colour tropical feel on this one, given we’re going into summer, and teals are so on trend at the moment.

Refinished in Rift by Dulux, this muted green tone creates a sense of relaxation and tranquillity for spaces in your home, and draws on the splendour of jewel tones to create an opulent yet tastefully elegant colour palette. And most of all it pairs perfectly with white walls.

My very lucky client picked these stunning curved armchairs from my inventory after seeing one of my stories.

Classic chairs made in the 60’s, my client chose this stunning marina ticking fabric, that perfect shade of teal, teamed with Watermelon Margarita from Porters Paints for the body.

I just love that mix of subdued maximalism, can’t wait for her to see the finished piece!

[ SIDEBOARD ]

Dark timbers are very much making a comeback, and it’s not hard to see why.

When I picked up this piece I started on the top as I wanted to see what was hiding behind the stain. It was a perfect candidate for a dark stain, so I finished it in walnut by PolyVine.

The body had to be a custom colour to suit the chocolate toned of the hardwood top, so I custom mixed green with black to achieve this almost silvery finish, complete with black hardware and stunning bird liners for the drawers from the UK.

This one is likely to go quick, complete that perfect homestead feel for your home, jump on my website to purchase.
