Final in-stock pieces

Some pieces were never meant to be mass-produced.
They were made in small runs, shaped by hand, finished slowly, and once they leave, they don’t return quickly.
Right now, a few of our most collected designs are down to their final remaining stock.

“What I feel is that we who believe, and are not heard, and have no real voice or power, because of our media, have to find each other and unite.” - Patti Smith, AnOther S/S06

When you see my moodboard, it’s easy to see where the design heart of this business is.
Licks of black, touches of stone, antique tables and texture, always texture. Nothing looks stark and new, and that’s the way I like it. Maybe it’s the writer in me that likes the items in my home to tell a story.
Or maybe I like my timber old, my chairs with woven seats and my ceramics with dents and dust because like the women and artists I admire, their homes always reflect the emotional depth, visual contrast and coming together of all the chapters of their lives.

Some things aren’t always meant to be. And this is the story of such a piece for me. I had my eye on these shelves for nearly a year. Every sourcing expedition they would appear and I always loved them but never committed. Until I did. I couldn’t get them out of my mind and envisioned exactly where they would go in our home. I even dismantled our old book shelf in preparation for its arrival. The books are still sitting in piles in our studio. Then shipment arrived, we unwrapped the shelves, and my heart sank. I had miscalculated the dimensions and it’s far too large for us. Heart broken. So whilst I had been holding onto it for a few weeks, I’m now emotionally ready to let it go. I hope she finds an amazing home.

Extremely heavy and solid. With black round feet to offset the bitter yellow patina. 💔

Our limestone sinks have always been one of our extra special sourced items. Always impressive, always for the discerning eye, always for those who want to make a lasting impression. This drop sees the addition of smaller sizes, perfect for powder rooms - or even as decorative pieces inside your home.

Elsa Peretti (1940-2021), carried her design philosophy into every part of her life. Situated in the medieval village of Sant Martí Vell in Girona, Catalonia, her estate became a place of quiet, clarity and creative inspiration.
I see that stone table and just know she did not give one care if her guests hit their knees or not.

Had a morning at home sans anyone (wow!) and my brain was able to function well enough to share my thoughts on substack. A happy Sunday indeed! Link in stories xx

‘To know Worn is to know our history, the past of which laid the path to where we now find ourselves’
– Co Founders, Lia-Belle King and Lotte James Barnes
Worn is the by-product of our time spent living in Indonesia. It is the physical manifestation of our combined life experience, but also represents a time where the concept of simplicity was at the forefront of our daily focus. Consume thoughtfully and less. When consuming, make it handmade and ethical.
After fifteen years in the fashion and design industry, we abandoned our respective careers for travel and self-discovery. Worn started with the production of a single chair, the SLING chair. It was the first time either of us had worked with the design and production of furniture, and as much as we focused on the design of the actual item, we focused equally on the idea of creating a consumable object that was free from ego and completely honest in its manufacturing. We wanted to make something beautiful, ethical and accessible.
And so Worn came to be. We soon extended our furniture collection to include more than one style, we also offered different leather treatments and even some cane and rattan into the mix. Within six months Worn also included new and antique lifestyle accessories sourced and hand made from villages in Indonesia and Borneo, and also a resort clothing range.
We remain true to our production whereby every item made by Worn is made to order and made by hand. We work exclusively with small family owned businesses and respect the time it takes for each piece to be made by one single person. Our makers do not use harmful dyes on our leather, or toxic treatments on our wood, cane and bamboo products. We aim to keep a harmonious relationship with the environment, with the health of those making the products, with you, our customer – and your home space.
As Worn grows so too does our awareness of maintaining balance. Designer Jesse Kamm is so wonderfully unapologetic about her approach to life as so we will end here, on her words, knowing she says it far better than we…
“One of the greatest gifts in my life has been the ability to trust my instincts. I never take on more than I believe I can handle. This does not mean I am weak or lazy. Rather, it means that I honor my limits. We think we have to work, work, work, so that we can have more stuff… bigger cars, more luxurious homes, and amazing new shoes every season. I call bu****it on all of that. More is not better, more is just more.
I choose to live simply so that I can travel, and spend as much time in the sea as possible. We all choose how to allocate our resources, and I choose to save mine for leisure because that is what makes me happy. My life is luxurious, but not in the way most people see luxury. It is luxurious because I have freedom, and for me, freedom is wealth.”
