Matching wood grains is where nature’s artistry meets human craftsmanship. 🌳✨
At Mahok, we see every piece of walnut wood as unique, and our goal is to highlight its natural beauty in harmony across our designs.
Here’s how we achieve flawless grain matching for our furniture:
1️⃣ Careful Wood Selection:
We hand-pick boards with similar tones, patterns, and textures. Walnut’s natural variations are stunning, but finding complementary pieces requires an eye for detail and patience.
2️⃣ Grain Orientation:
Each plank is inspected and aligned to create a seamless flow of the grain, ensuring visual balance and symmetry. For chairs, this includes matching grains on seat backs, legs, and frames.
3️⃣ Precision Cutting:
Using specialized tools, we cut each piece precisely to preserve the grain's flow while minimizing waste. This step demands focus and skilled hands.
4️⃣ Joinery Techniques:
When assembling, we use techniques that enhance the grain continuity, such as bookmatching, where adjacent pieces mirror each other like an open book.
5️⃣ Sanding and Finishing:
Finally, each piece is hand-sanded and treated with oils to bring out the walnut’s rich tones and highlight the intricate patterns of the grain.
Every chair we craft tells a cohesive story of nature’s beauty, perfected by human care. 🌿
